Cookie-cutters don’t cut it in the real world.

The IMF and its mathematical models are appalling. I didn’t say this, Joseph Stiglitz a renowned economist did. He said they used a 'cookie-cutter approach’. They use a one solution fits all technique, and look where is gotten us!

But this macro economic wisdom applies to the personal level as well. It’s stuck with me for one! Whenever I make decisions, I always think back to this, I question myself, am I using a cookie-cutter approach?
As a Pakistani I ask myself, is democracy in its current form the right approach for us? Shouldn’t we have a system that we develop for ourselves? Something that works for us?
As a writer, I wonder, if the method I am using to write one piece is good enough for another one?
As a mom, I ask myself, if something worked with another child, should that approach work with mine?
Cut, copy, paste doesn’t work! what we need is some reflection, some serious thought, and some creative effort to find solutions that are our own, that work for us, that help us grow.
